Day 1 In The Books

Yesterday was the big day....
I threw for the first time since my shoulder surgery in October. I started out with stands with a 4 lb shot and did a great job of controlling my left shoulder movement so I moved to half turns. I was much more tentative than I expected. It took me probably 20 throws to get comfortable doing half turns again. At the end I was right back to where I left off with the exception of being able to block hard at the front. Fritz really wanted to try and do some Souths (modified full throws) but I was too scared and didn't take him up on the offer/challenge. I never would have thought I wouldn't try something and push myself but I'm glad that I am not in a hurry and finally know my limits.
I got so sore from throwing last night and questioned whether or not this is worth it. But after waking up this morning, heating, and rehabbing I started to loosen up a bit and decided I've come to far to give up now. I throw again Monday and can't wait to see how it goes!
Tomorrow we have another home track meet and as much as it sucks to not be able to compete I've never been more thankful to be where I am and blessed to have my track family around me all the time.
