Number 5

Yesterday was the day that changed all my dreams, hopes, and desires....

I walked into Dr. Palmgrens office with the hopes to hear that I could get an injection and be able to finish the season and then I'd just take some time off and be good to go in June or July to start training again...The news I got was just the opposite

The appointment started with him evaluating my foot and proceeding to tell me he didn't have good news. Apparently I stretched out my Liz Franc ligament so bad that my foot dislocates every time I put pressure on it. He said if I ever want to do anything more than walk ever again without pain it needs to be surgically repaired and then another supporting hand made anchor/ligament put on top of it. Recovery time 4-6 months...

I asked if I could do any more damage to it if I continue to try and compete, his reply was that it would only hurt me pain wise but can't really get any worse. So after I went and told Coach Fritz how the appointment went while shedding many tears I found myself look him square in the eyes and say I wanna throw at Big 12s... We threw the hammer 3 times and it went 190 feet with the 3.5 k which will place me at Big 12s. The plan of action now is to throw once a week hopefully and then drop a bomb at Big 12s and then have surgery as soon as we get back from the meet and start the recovery process...

I have never been more determined in my life to beat the odds.
